XOIP now offers the possibility for each KPN subscriber to obtain an alternative number with an Rotterdam area code.

With XOIP it is now possible to receive and send faxes via email in Amsterdam. To do this, the use of a KPN number is not necessary.

Companies located in Amsterdam can choose between a new XOIP number in Amsterdam or continue to use their current number. Besides the free 084 numbers, XOIP also offers local numbers in Amsterdam. Companies in Amsterdam can therefore request XOIP numbers with their own 020 – area code.

The calling costs of local XOIP numbers are lower than those of the 084 numbers, but there are subscription costs attached to local numbers.

Having a XOIP number offers a number of appealing benefits to businesses in the Amsterdam where fax traffic plays an important role. Think about offices where faxing is associated with sending orders, contracts and other official documents.

A very interesting advantage is that no special software is required for XOIP. When someone sends a fax to your number, the fax is received as an email attachment on your email address. In principle you can receive free, unlimited faxes. However, this depends on the type of XOIP number. Furthermore, there is no need for a separate fax line.

Another advantage is the ability to send faxes online or via email. XOIP works with credits for fax sending. XOIP credit can be loaded by a payment from the XOIP website, by bank transfer or by phoning XOIP’s 0900 number. If you have insufficient funds to send a fax, XOIP will only send the fax once the credit balance has been sufficiently uploaded.

How to email a fax in three easy steps

1. If you don’t have an account, sign up for a free XOIP account.  There are no obligations, and as a registered telecoms provider, we take your privacy very seriously. To make life easy, use the email address you will be faxing from when you sign up. *

2. Save the file you wish to fax as a .pdf, and attach it to an email.  Only the .pdf will be faxed, not the email body.

3. Send the email to [email protected]  replacing 311231234 with the fax number.  Be sure to enter the number in international format, where the first digits are the country code.  You don’t need to enter the 00 or +.

XOIP will send your fax to the number you entered in the email address, and will email you confirmation of whether your fax was successfully received or not.  XOIP will prompt you to upload credits, if you don’t have a sufficient balance.

Signing up for XOIP is free, and to receive faxes is free.  However, to send faxes, you will need credits to cover the cost of the outbound telephone call.  You can purchase as few or as many credits as you need online, and you don’t need to give your bank detail to XOIP.

XOIP maakt het nu mogelijk om bij het versturen uw fax header informatie aan te passen. De fax header is een korte regel tekst die linksboven op de pagina wordt uitgeprint op een fax bericht. U kunt dus vanaf vandaag op uw uitgaande fax berichten uw naam of bedrijfsnaam gebruiken zodat de ontvangende partij direkt kan zien van wie het bericht afkomstig is.

Instructie om de header informatie aan te passen:

1. Login op www.xoip.com
2. Ga naar “mijn profiel”, eerste tabblad.
3. Scroll naar beneden naar de “Fax out instellingen”.
4. Wijzig de tekst achter “Fax koptekst”, en klik op “bevestig”.

With XOIP you are now able to customize your fax header. The fax header is a short line of text printed in the top left hand corner of each outgoing fax page. With this new feature, you can add your name or company name to the header and your clients will immediately know who sent the fax.

Follow these easy steps to customize your fax header to your own needs:

1. Log in to XOIP
2. Open the ‘my profile’ tab
3. Scroll down to the section called ‘fax out settings’
4. Change the ‘Fax header’ field (maximum amount of characters may not exceed 32 characters)
5. Click ‘save’ to apply your changes
